| Here at Sachs Jewelers, we believe very strongly in the sanctity of human life. Diamonds are a representation of the triumph of the human spirit, of love and the bonds between people. Recently, the diamond industry has been the subject of a series of sensationalist stories, some in the news and some coming out of Hollywood. We would like to set the record straight about “Conflict Diamonds,” and to allay our customers’ fears that their jewelry may be tainted by violence. Diamond trading is regulated by the Kimberly Process Certification Scheme, or KPCS, an international agency whose charter is to certify that profits from diamond mining do not fund terrorist organizations or human rights abusers. KPCS certifications are only given to diamond shipments coming from reputable mining operations employing acceptable labor practices. In 2004, the KPCS declared that 99% of the world’s available diamonds were conflict-free. Sachs Jewelers is proud to exclusively purchase stones with KPCS certification allowing you to forever admire the fine craftsmanship and loving glow of your diamond without worry. Thank you for your concern and loyal patronage. |
