As we prepare for our 60th anniversary celebration, we’ve had occasion to take a look back at our grandfather’s retailing philosophy.

Back in 1946, men (mostly) were returning from their service during World War II. They were anxious to resume the life left in limbo and pursue their dreams of school, career and marriage.

Eli Sachs, believed that such men deserved a more focused and welcoming type of jewelry store and so he opened the doors to a modest, but innovative, jewelry boutique in Boston.

The mission was to provide high quality products at the most reasonable prices with a special eye on customer service.

The business flourished and grew. In 1952, Eli’s son Harold began a second jewelry store in downtown Worcester.
With the same unerring eye for beautiful and superbly crafted pieces and with same commitment to superior customer service as taught by Eli, Harold soon built a loyal and grateful following.

As Harold’s business grew, so did his family. His wife Marilyn gave birth to sons who might just as well have been born with precise loupes already in place.

Harold retired in 1991 and watched with pride as sons Marc and Karl brought their own vision to the Sachs family legacy.

The Sachs Brothers blended the time-honored commitment to true customer service that had become the family’s trademark, with an unerring eye for exquisite craftsmanship and natural beauty, to create the new Sachs Jewelers… steeped in Old World tradition but infused with the cutting-edge retail essence today’s customers insist upon.

Marc and Karl are now busily preparing the fourth generation of jewelry and diamond experts for their future roles as industry leaders.
